Vice President of Marketing (2501) California Bay Area

As VP of Marketing, you will report directly to our CRO and be responsible for all marketing functions including brand, content creation, messaging, storytelling, digital marketing strategy /execution, communications, and marketing operations. You will be responsible for our existing team, and partnering with other key functional leaders from sales, revenue operations and product to build and implement strategic plans  to elevate awareness of the company, communicate our uniquely differentiated story,  grow interest in company both from business leaders at target customers, and generate demand from targeted markets that achieves or exceeds our aggressive growth targets.

You Will:

  • Elevate the Company story from a customer point of view to enable rapid penetration of target industry verticals.
  • Create a pathway to an effective category creation by shaping the story on who we are and why we matter. Leverage our unique value proposition to our customers.
  • Understand the personas of the buyers and educate them about Company – work hand-in-hand with the sales team to penetrate new markets.
  • Build a clear, powerful and recognized Company brand, both at the company and product levels.
  • Evolve and drive the company’s brand strategy – lead integrated and strategic marketing and communications plan to advance Company’s brand awareness via campaigns and programs.
  • Work cross-functionally to integrate our brand into the fabric of the company.
  • Content generation: own creative and content marketing ranging from sales collateral to blog content and social media content.
  • Manage outbound marketing efforts from advertising, AR/PR, Digital, Web, Social, and Events to drive visibility across stakeholders.
  • Build and develop a world class marketing team, motivate people to perform at their best, and provide effective and timely feedback to achieve results.

  • Manage relationships with and promotional opportunities with key publishers, analysts, and media partners
  • Collaborate with sales to ensure both the quantity and quality of leads are optimized to convert throughout the funnel.
  • Establish goals and create strategy for meeting marketing deliverables and metrics; work with marketing directors to establish team and individual goals and metrics
  • Design and review the Marketing department’s budget
  • Participate in the quarterly and annual planning of the company’s objectives
  • Track competitors’ activities and emerging industry trends

You Have:

  • Strong go-to-market experience, and experience owning a broad range of functions in high growth environments as a marketing leader.
  • Experience in building and managing GTM motion across different market segments – demonstrated skill synthesizing competitive trends, market data, and customer insights into action plans.
  • A track record of success in well-funded early stage companies is ideal. Some experience in growth stage private companies preferred.
  • Solid general business skills, including analytical and project management skills, comfortable with managing budgets and monitoring business results.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create, communicate and direct a team to achieve the company’s vision. Understanding and experience working across all marketing functions, from product to communications.
  • Deep experience in content creation, creative marketing and driving integrated, lasting marketing campaigns.
  • Experience in a leadership role encompassing branding, brand strategy, and brand management with a thorough knowledge of all aspects of marketing principles and demonstrated success and performance in an early-stage company.
  • Highly disciplined and organized, both operationally and in thought process.

  • Proven work experience as a VP of Marketing, Marketing Director or other senior role
  • Experience with large Industrial Engineering communities is a plus.
  • Rigorous analytical and data-driven mindset. You decide based on evidence, and when you don’t have the evidence you need, you run tests.
