Technical Writer (2550) Massachusetts

We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our Marketing & Sales team as we ramp up our product documentation. This individual will be responsible for product manuals, set-up guides, website help sections and articles, and other content that distills technical information with ease and clarity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and update existing documentation as well as own creation of all new product related materials, such as product manuals, data sheets, product catalogs
  • Meet with subject-matter experts and work closely with product managers to ensure specialized topics are appropriately addressed
  • Create an organized system to manage all open projects, maintain content calendar to ensure on-time completion and generate innovative ideas for content and workflow solutions
  • Generate training materials for global service and sales organization including videos that may require a script or narration
  • Follow all accepted procedures and adhere to document control guidelines, create procedures, and define processes as necessary
  • Ensure that our website, intranet, internal databases, and external sources have the most up-to-date documents, communicate updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Submit articles, blogs and newsletter content for use in marketing campaigns and other communications
  • Demonstrate an awareness of content creation best practices, search engine optimization, scientific report publishing
  • Create and format graphics and diagrams, choose stock images, take pictures, and record videos as necessary
  • Analyze information required for the development or update of business and operational procedures, and form documentation
  • Determine the clearest and most logical way to present information for greatest reader comprehension
  • Create or manage the creation of document templates that adhere to brand guidelines for both external and internal communications
  • Review and/or copy-edit content developed by other members of the team assist in publishing research and creating conference presentations and posters

Qualifications and Skills

  • Fluency in technical and common office software
  • Ability to pay attention to details while balancing multiple priorities
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to execute tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and build on current skills
  • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills
  • Ability to check all technical material for consistency and accuracy
  • 3-5 years of technical writing experience
  • Additional Considerations:
  • Technical degree such as in Physics or Science
  • Experience in semiconductor manufacturing, optics or physics related field a plus
  • Ability to do basic graphic design, photography or produce videos as needed
