Sr Product Marketing Manager (2236) California Bay Area

Overview

Reporting to the CEO, this management level position is accountable for setting and implementing the overall product line strategy with the objective of gaining market share and margin. Intimate knowledge of customer needs, requiring strong relationships with Fab managers and OEM equipment design authorities, built through frequent, consistent face-to-face meetings. This position is also responsible for product price guidance, forecasting and trend analysis, and competitive analysis.

Position Responsibilities & Job Duties

  • Set high level objectives for new products, markets and customer development
  • Set and implement the overall product line strategy with the objective of increasing market share and profit margin for the group
  • Meet profitability – 30% Op Profit, Growth 5% above the market
  • Analyze product line performance and initiate appropriate actions to maximize operating profit.
  • Provide direction and support to manufacturing to implement operational objectives
    • Prepare and publish order volume forecasts for all products, and support the operations department in the implementation of availability objectives
    • Participate in operational planning activities and provide analysis to support operational planning
  • Provide direction and support to planning and purchasing to implement logistical objectives
  • Provide direction and support to engineering to implement technology objectives
    • Generate product plans to align with customer roadmaps into a cohesive product line development plan for all products
    • Provide direction and support to sustaining engineering for all products
    • Prepare and manage product plans to implement new product development objectives
  • Provide direction and support to Marketing and Sales
    • Provide product and competitive analysis to Market Management for preparing marketing plans
    • Prepare product specific collateral material including applications notes
    • Provide direction and support in the preparation and maintenance of product specific internet activities and information
    • Prepare, assemble, and support product demonstrations for use in trade shows and promotional events
    • Provide product training and selling support material to the company sales organization
    • Participate in strategic selling activities for all products and semiconductor customers
  • Provide performance analysis ad action plans to divisional management
    • Prepare and present a monthly analysis of product line performance and activities
    • Provide analysis and support for preparation of the annual operating plan
    • Prepare and present a product line performance and positioning analysis for annual strategic planning
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned by company management

Qualifications and Skills Required

  • S.E. degree as a minimum – advanced technical degree preferred
  • 10 plus years experience with semiconductor capital equipment
  • Ability to drive the customers’ needs, specifications, and schedules to ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining the Company’s business objectives and profitability
  • Strong communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding presentation skills
  • Extensive experience interacting with customers and within cross-functional or matrix organization
  • Ability to understand and translate information into customer directed materials
  • Travel approximately 30%-50%
