Production Control Planner (2263) Massachusetts

Summary:  This versatile position supports the company in its high growth stage.  This position will be responsible for four major areas:

  • Sales order management and production control
  • Production schedule
  • Work order management
  • MRP/MPS development

Other responsibilities include being a key participant in ERP implementation, SIOP management and inventory control.  This position will also perform other various duties in support of the organization as required.

Demonstrated Experience Required

  • Manage sales order entry and order acknowledgement process
  • Responsible for maintenance of sales orders for data accuracy
  • Thorough understanding of master scheduling/production scheduling and planning
  • Utilize sales forecast and order backlog to create demand plan
  • Create Master Production Schedule (MPS) from demand plan
  • Create MRP from combined demand and forecast
  • Close works orders upon job completion-evaluate variances-run to root cause and facilitate correction
  • Support successful integration of engineering projects to production
  • Drive and participate in continuous Improvement/Lean Initiatives
  • This position will also perform other various duties in support of the operations team as required

Skills Required:

  • Strong ERP knowledge (sales orders, work orders and inventory transaction) and experience in ERP date management
  • Previous experience in master scheduling and planning and production control (releasing/closing work orders)
  • Solid understanding of inventory movement and transactional integrity, production and supply chain planning and production control in a low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of Import/Export Compliance requirements
  • Knowledge of key Lean concepts such as Kanban, Kaizen and Poka-Yoke
  • Knowledge of capacity planning and Theory of Constraints
  • Strong background in data analysis, spreadsheets and reports
  • Experience in inventory variance analysis and shortage reporting
  • Previous experience or working knowledge of SIOP planning and MRP
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment in a global setting
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including effective written and oral communication abilities

Education Required:

  • Bachelors degree in related field
  • APICS certification or equivalent preferred
