Job Summary

Company is seeking for an optical systems engineer to participate in the development of state of the art body-worn and portable vision and digital night vision systems used in applications including commercial virtual reality, training and simulation, man-portable soldier systems, and head-mounted soldier and aviation display and digital night vision systems. We are looking for a team-oriented, self-driven individual with a keen technical mind and creative aptitude.  Candidate must have a detailed understanding of hardware engineering and systems with optical components and embedded software control.  The candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced, highly technical R&D environment.  The candidate is expected to explore new technologies and product concepts, create new products, enhance our current product lines, and stay abreast of new technologies and techniques.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Define complete optical systems requirements and specifications, integration plans, and test procedures
  • Design and implement new lens designs for objectives and eyepieces for the next generation night vision systems
  • Develop imaging systems validation testing requirements
  • Work with electrical and mechanical engineers to debug systems and evaluate performance

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Understanding of optical principles
  • Expertise in Zemax or Code V lens design software
  • Ability to architect, specify, and test complex optical systems
  • Imaging systems expertise, specifically with cameras, displays or electro optical systems
  • Understanding of performance testing and validation of optical systems and components

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors’ degree in Optics, Physics or equivalent field
  • 10 years experience with complex imaging systems
  • Demonstrate the ability to design, specify, build and test sophisticated optical systems
  • US citizens only
