Hardware Manager (2271) California Bay Area

Responsibilities:

  • Design control system hardware and systems for company’s custom auto-match products.
  • Determine system requirements and develop HW for mixed-signal microelectronic products by examining design criteria, system feasibility and product needs / capabilities.
  • Select key components, interfaces, and protocols and create schematics to design and develop control system HW components and systems.
  • Design and layout PCBs and PCBAs from schematics developed by you or others using Altium Designer.
  • Determine optimal system trade-offs to balance efficiency, cost and flexibility of designs.
  • Develop, simulate, verify, and validate control boards, sensors, and other control system components.
  • Work with engineering teams to design, change, and improve existing and future products.
  • Perform system-level analysis, characterization, and failure analysis of control systems.
  • Contribute to architecture, interface, and requirements definition in current and future products.

 Skills and Technical Qualifications Required:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent related combination of degree and (or) experience.
  • Minimum 5 years designing and implementing embedded micro-processor (with external memory) from schematic to PCBA.
  • Must have strong background in embedded systems, debugging, testing, and deployment.
  • Experience with motor control are highly prefered.
  • Working knowledge of related lab equipment, oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, etc. required.
  • Must have excellent communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience building and maintaining PCB/PCBA databases and libraries required.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of schematic capture and PCB layout tools required.
  • Experience industrializing PCBAs for high volume manufacturing desired.
  • Experience with DFMEA, DFM, compliance, and reliability desired.
  • Experience programming ARM cores, FPGAs, and other SoC based systems is extremely helpful.
  • C/C++ programming experience helpful
  • Must have real-time embedded signal processing experience.
