Final Product Quality Inspector (2258) Massachusetts

This position has the primary responsible for performing visual, dimensional, and basic electrical inspection for workmanship and completeness, preparing product for shipment, and gathering data to help with process and product quality traceability

  Responsibilities and Deliverables:

  • Perform visual inspection of workmanship, take dimensional and basic electrical inspection for completeness of final products in order to make an acceptance and rejection determination
  • Review documentation accompanying final products for accuracy
  • Measure and record critical features in the form of numerical values and pictures
  • Prepare and package accepted products for shipment
  • Gather and record data to help in continuous improvement through identifying process and design weakness

Skills Required:

  • Basic understanding of Mechanical (GD&T) & Electrical drawings
  • Proficiency in the use of basic mechanical and electrical hand measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, and multi-meters
  • Comfortable with use of MS Office Suite of Products, especially Excel, Word and Power point
  • ERP knowledge and experience e.g. MI-Sys, QuickBooks, Sage, Epicor, SAP, JDE, Baan, or Visual Factory is a plus
  • Use of Quality Tools for determining cause and recommending corrective actions (8-D, 5-why, fishbone, and Kepner-Tregoe)
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Knowledge of lean and 5S methodology is advantageous

Experience Required:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Electrical/Electronics/Semiconductor industry
  • Worked collaboratively across departments to identify and resolve production quality issues
  • Responsible for performing in-process (sub-assemblies, finished goods), or final inspection of products as required
  • Documented identified non-compliance issues with components and assemblies
  • Contributed to continuous process improvement efforts by documenting and analyzing data
  • Was responsible for gathering and reporting product quality metrics
  • Took part in problem solving process and validated effectiveness of implemented actions and containments

Education Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred
