About the role

We are looking for a Chief People Officer to lead our People/Human Resources (HR) Function across the US. This person must have exceptional leadership skills with deep empathy to help lay the groundwork for company’s growth and expansion. The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of how to design, build, and grow the people function. The Chief People Officer will work alongside the executive team to ensure that we champion our values and enhance our culture. This person will be accountable for all aspects of the People function / HR value chain.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic

Perform the role of strategic partner to the executive team through designing and integrating the people strategy and business strategy and through:

  • Designing an effective Organizational Development strategy in line with the business strategy
  • Designing an effective organizational culture
  • Influencing employee engagement and a high performance culture within the business
  • Talent attraction, identification, development and retention
  • Talent and succession management
  • Learning and development initiatives
  • Performance management initiatives
  • Designing career trajectories and development plans for employees
  • Change management initiatives
  • Integration of all HR practices in support of the people and business strategy
  • Create and manage and incubation model to attract additional contractor resource into the country and the fiber market
  • Conducts research and analysis of organizational trends including review of reports and metrics from the organization’s human resource information system (HRIS) or talent management system.
  • Monitors and ensures the organization’s compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews and modifies policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law; applies this knowledge to communicate changes in policy, practice, and resources to upper management.
  • Develops and implements departmental budget.
  • Facilitates professional development, training, and certification activities for HR staff.

Technical

Provide strategic people management support through the following activities:

  • Design and drive the recruitment and selection process internally and externally
  • Design and facilitate the appropriate onboarding and induction process for all new employees with the aim of the early engagement of new starters as well as smooth integration onto the new business environment
  • Design and drive effective performance management processes and incentive structures
  • Design a remuneration strategy – Benchmark jobs internally against salary band information and externally to ensure competitiveness and alignment to related job market
  • Utilize a job grading technique to evaluate jobs effectively
  • Manage sound employee relations by advising on and leading the implementation of effective disciplinary, grievance restructuring, incapacity, mediation and conflict resolution activities
  • Implement of talent management practices inclusive of talent reviews, talent mapping, talent pool development, succession planning and career development practices

General:

  • Build solid business relationships with internal stakeholders by providing effective advisory services and accessibility
  • Build and manage the people team
  • Continuously live, promote and act as a custodian of organizational values and culture
  • Work as the custodian of all people related policies and procedures
  • Required Qualifications, Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree with Majors relating to Human Resource Management / Organizational Psychology.
  • Accredited Organizational Psychologist would be preferable.
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in HR and people management
  • Experience in building highly diverse and inclusive work forces
  • Understanding and experience with US Labor Legislation
  • Deep understanding of the entire HR value chain
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict management skills
  • Strong ethics and moral compass
