RESPONSIBILITIES

The Business Development Director is responsible for developing new customers and as directed, expanding business within existing customers to maximize company sales and profitability.

Duties

  • Sell company services to achieve or exceed assigned sales goals and revenue objectives.
  • Contact prospective and/or existing clients to determine needs.
  • Perform lead generation and follow-up.
  • Conduct sales presentations to match company services with identified needs.
  • Offer technical, product, and process knowledge to effect customer-centric solutions.
  • Provide in-depth responses to questions from potential customers regarding company services.
  • Manage accounts, set account strategies, and promote all company services.
  • Maintain sales records and prepare sales reports.

Provide company’s executives with focused market and technology research reports.

Assist company’s executives in formulation of sales and marketing strategies.

Provide appropriate planning for desired marketing and advertising/promotion activities.

Drive sales organization planning and development.

 If/when the business development position has direct-reporting staff, many of the above duties would be candidates for delegation; within this structure, the role would include people-management, recruitment, motivation, training and staffing development responsibilities.

The Director of Business Development is expected to interview and define the needs of the customer and present viable solutions; to “hunt or farm” and grow existing accounts; to meet deadlines; to have the ability to set priorities, manage time effectively, provide status to internal and external customers in a timely fashion, and communicate effectively throughout the organization.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EDUCATION

  • Minimum 5 – 10 years of experience in a professional sales management position.
  • A strong sales background and proven track record managing key customer relationships.
  • Semiconductor, manufacturing, or related market knowledge is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent training in business or sales management.
  • Excellent customer service, problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
  • Excellent presentation, communication and writing skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Organized and efficient in time-management, capable of multi-tasking.
  • Self-motivated and able to perform job requirements with little to no supervision.
  • Proficiency in software applications such as MS Word, MS Excel, and Windows
  • Customer interfacing experience is a must.

Some travel may be required in automobile and commercial aircraft.
